Just Wait Until You See The NEW Bank of NH Stage!

Concord NH – Last night the new Bank of NH Stage opened its doors and had its inaugural performance. R&B artist Ed Balloon “blew up” the stage and attendees left the show impressed. The new Bank of NH Stage opening was a smashing success and the ambiance of the venue was amazing. I had been looking forward to finally seeing inside the new Bank of NH Stage after months of anticipation. Last night I finally had the opportunity and I was not disappointed. Let me show inside the new Bank of New Hampshire Stage!

The Vacated Concord Theater Transformed Into The NEW Bank of NH Stage

Below is a photo Steve Duprey from the Duprey Companies took in August of 2018. As you can see, the old theater was in pretty bad shape and his team had their work cut out for them.

As You Can See, The Theater Has Come a LONG Way…

The History of The Bank of NH Stage

In July of 2018, the nonprofit Capitol Center for the Arts took ownership of the long-vacant Concord Theatre, a landmark in the city of Concord, NH. The movie house showed its last film in the 1990s and quickly fell into disrepair. With the help of an incredible community and generous donors, fundraising efforts successfully helped bring the Bank of NH Stage back to life.

The Bank of NH Stage focuses on niche, indie, and up-and-coming performing artists. The venue holds about 300 people seated, and a fully retractable seating system means they can also bring bands for general admission, standing-room only shows with a capacity of 450.

Opening Night – Walking Into The Bank of NH Stage

We Grabbed Our Tickets From Will Call and Chatted It Up With The Very Friendly Staff

Everyone was very excited for the opening and every single staff member we spoke with was cordial and accommodating.

We Then Ventured Upstairs For a Pre-Show Beverage At The Bank Of NH Bar

On the second floor of the Bank of NH Stage you will find a beautiful and modern bar. Plenty of seating around the bar and there are also multiple tables spread out offering even more seating. Some of these tables look out onto downtown Main Street and offer up some great views.

The bar and lounge on the second floor overlooking Main Street will also offer food before and after shows from their own kitchen.

The Bartender Was Very Friendly and Delighted The Crowd With “Beer Magic” With Their Tap System

Watch This “Beer Magic” at the New Bank of NH Stage Bar in Concord NH

They have a very cool tap system that fills the cups from the BOTTOM of the cup. There is a magnet 🧲 in the bottom of the cup that leads to this beer wizardry. 🍺Apparently this is called a BottomsUp dispenser that fills these special cups from the bottom up.

Pro Tip – DON’T Push The Magnet Up With a Full Cup of Beer Or You Will Be Disappointed…

I actually saw someone do this during the show. Oops…. 😉

We Had To Take A Selfie On The “Bow Tie Balcony”

There is a small little balcony upstairs of the Bank of NH Stage that apparently is called The Bow Tie Balcony. According to the Bank of NH Facebook page, Dr. Bob Wilson was the chair of the fundraising campaign to make the Bank of NH Stage come into reality. There is a nice view of The Hotel Concord and O’s Seafood and Steak across the street.

The Bank of NH Stage Balcony

Off of the upstairs bar is the Bank of NH Stage balcony seating. We didn’t get seating up here but I had to take a look.

“This Is Going To Be a Transformative Venue For Concord.” -Byron Champlin

One of the other guests in attendance, Concord NH’s own Byron Champlin wrote on his facebook page “Inaugural night at the Capitol Center for the Arts’ new Bank of New Hampshire Stage, with Ed Balloon. Everyone I spoke with at this “soft opening” agreed that this is going to be a transformative venue for Concord.” I have to agree!

This New Venue Will Certainly Contribute To a Thriving Downtown Concord, NH

My friend Molly who was in attendance said this, “I’m glad we have a place like that in town. Nightlife is needed in Concord.” This new venue will certainly contribute to a thriving downtown Concord, NH.
