The 5th Annual TEAM Fall Equinox Festival will be held on Saturday, September 21st

Exeter NH – The 5th Annual TEAM Fall Equinox Festival will be held on Saturday, September 21st from 10am – 4pm in Swasey Parkway. The event will feature over 30 arts vendors, 10 food vendors, 3 live music stages, kids activities and interactive art projects. There will also be a “Live Vibrantly” yoga session in the park presented by Laney & Lu Café, with live music from award-winning artist “Qwill”, with proceeds to benefit TEAM and SATYA (Seacoast Area Teachers of Yoga in Action). The park will be open to the public, with a suggested $10 donation per person and $20 per family.

The fest will feature an all-star lineup “Bluegrass Block” from noon – 2pm featuring three well-known regional musical artists who all call Exeter home.  “Rockspring”, led by Chad Verbeck, will kick things off, followed by friend and collaborator Artty Raynes Francoeur and his band.  Closing out the set will be award-winning songwriter and poet Todd Hearon, who will be fronting his band “Myrtle”.  Groove Lounge will be playing a 2pm set, featuring vocalist Bria Ansara, who lives in Key West, Florida during the winter months but returns to Exeter each year from May until October.  Boston-based indie-pop-rock band Lockette will follow Saturday afternoon on the main stage at 3pm, featuring lead guitarist Ashley Rhodes, an Exeter High School graduate who attended  Berklee College of Music.

Scott Ruffner, Director of Arts Industry Alliance and the TEAM non-profit initiative, commented on the evolution of the Exeter arts events, “Each festival seems to take on a little story of it’s own, and this year we’ve really noticed an emergence of more female artists and performers.  It’s exciting to see things evolve with a wider range of diversity.  We finally seem to be breaking through the stigma that you have to paint sailboats or sing folk songs to be a recognized artist or musician here in New Hampshire.”

Gretchen Klempa, an Exeter native formerly of Gretchen & The Pickpockets, will be kicking off the festival weekend with a “TEAM Songwriter Circle” performance in the River Room lounge at Sea Dog Brewery at 8pm on Friday, September 20th.  Tickets are $10 and will benefit TEAM and the Equinox Fest.  For more information visit www.TeamExeter.org.
